Search

Find datasets, projects, and files across the team from one box.

Search spans the whole team: the data catalogue, projects, and files. Open it with the search box in the sidebar, or press K (CtrlK on Windows and Linux).

Result groups

Results are grouped by what they are, with a count per group.

Group Contains
Data catalogue Sources, datasets, mappings
Projects Projects you can access
Files Charts, dashboards, uploads, maps

Each result shows its parent above its name — the team or project it belongs to — so two datasets called Customers stay tellable apart.

Filters

Toggles above the results turn each group on or off. The state persists for your session, so if you mostly search for datasets you can leave Projects and Files off.

Sort offers:

Sort Behaviour
Relevance Name matches first, then description and field names
Recently updated Newest activity first
Name Alphabetical

What is searched

Object Matched on
Dataset Name, description, field names, source name
Source Name, connector type, host
Mapping Logical field name, member field names
Project Name, description
File Name, chart title, dataset it reads

Field names are indexed

Searching billing_email finds every dataset with that column, even when no dataset is named anything like it. This is the fastest way to answer “where does this field come from?”

Search respects permissions

You only see what you already have access to. A dataset in a project you are not a member of will not appear — which is also why a colleague’s search results may differ from yours.
